Washington has lost its police station.

The decision to closure Washington Station was exposed by the Conservatives: our Labour councillors
knew nothing about it.

And it is only the Conservatives that have kept the pressure on to fight for proper local policing in Washington.
The new Washington policing hub is nothing more than an office. A town the size of Washington needs more.

That is why Local Conservatives are demanding better for Washington.

It was a Conservative government that provided Sunderland Council with £20m to enable the
creation of the Washington Town Board, a new local initiative to stamp our anti-social behaviour.

It was Local Conservatives that stopped the use of the Holiday Inn in Washington for housing
sex offenders by Sunderland City Council and its partners in Durham and Gateshead.
